Knology offers up three different Internet speeds. Our download speed options vary from 256k to 8mb. (8mb is not available in all areas.)
Will the modem ever have a busy signal?
No, as a matter of fact you can use your phone and be online simultaneously.
How secure will my computer be on a KNOLOGY cable modem?
While no computer is completely safe from security risks, Knology works on several fronts to combat computer hackers on our network. Knology provisions IP addresses dynamically which helps to prevent a hacker zeroing in on a customer. We also disengage network settings during the installation, which greatly reduces the security risk. Knology always recommends that customers also have their own security software.
What browser can I use with KNOLOGY?
Knology supports Internet Explorer. Netscape Navigator and other browsers can be used with Knology.Net high-speed Internet access, however our support team will only support Internet Explorer.
How many email addresses do I get with KNOLOGY service?
Knology will provide you 7 email addresses with your residential modem account. The number of email addresses changes with business accounts.
What about newsgroups? Do I get a news service with KNOLOGY?
Yes you do. Knology provides newsgroup services with unlimited, unedited newsgroup feeds.
What about Spam Email?
Knology has its own Spam filtering service called SpamFryer. This allows full High-Speed customers to manage and zap Spam as they see fit.

Do you offer a static IP address?
Yes, Knology offers several different package options that include Static IP Addresses.
What is the charge for static IP?
The chosen Internet Service determines static IP pricing. Several Knology Internet Service options include a Static IP address.
Can I keep my current email address (domain name)?
If you own your Domain Name (example: mycompany.com), you can keep your current email address.
How do I contact people with my new email address?
Many customers email their contact lists notifying them of their email address change. You can also check with your former email provider to see if they have the option of forwarding email to your new email address for a designated period of time.
Do I have space to create a website?
Several of the Knology Service Plans include web space for businesses. When using Knology provided Web Space to access the posted information, the web site would be www.knology.net/~Company-Name. Knology also provides several different Web Site hosting options if a company has their own Domain Name and Web Site.
If I am networking my business computers, will I need additional equipment?
This will be determined by the business requirements and needs. All businesses should contact their Network Provider or Support to insure proper equipment.
Does Knology install the CAT 5 wiring for my Internet services?
Knology does not typically provide CAT 5 wiring. This should be completed by your Network Support provider before Internet Service Installation.
